Day in the Life...

Day in the Life is a program created to offer a unique and individualized
experience for high school students to experience a typical day in the life of a college student.

Students participating in this program are paired one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students, enrolled at the host institution, based on their major, special interest/hobbies, and co-curricular involvements. Throughout the day, students have the opportunity to attend classes, eat in campus-area
dining facilities, visit campus libraries and recreational facilities, attend student group meetings, see a residence hall room and interact with professors and university administrators.

Students will also have the chance to hear from university financial aid, admissions, student affairs, and diversity and inclusion representatives to learn more about the collegiate processes of the host institution.

In addition to the student experience, high school administrators will be engaged in various professional development sessions, focusing on community engagement; student retention; financial aid, scholarships and university offered resources; diversity and inclusion;  collegiate admissions; and a discussion focused on the biggest challenges students from urban and rural communities face, when it comes to education.

It is important to note that while the students will be visiting a specific university, for the day, the program is not designed to recruit students to that particular university, but instead to encourage them to attend and learn about college, in general.
